White's in Store for 2011

2011 has gotten off to a good start! It seems beds, white iron beds mostly, are the must have item of the month. We just delivered three beds tonight, one is being picked up tomorrow, another is almost finished and will be in it's new home this weekend!

Let's hope this momentum keeps up! Is 2011 the year to beat 2006??? Are we pulling out of the recession??Finally??Is "Country" making a big comeback??
If the latest items the big name (ahem.. PB,C&B,UB and HS) stores are carrying are any indication at all, then we are in luck!!!
Yesterday my niece bought a white ironstone pitcher at PB for $58...for a repro...hmmmm!!C&B carries distressed tables made from recycled telephone poles..for a mere $1400 and up!!The trends are certainly taking a country approach,a new country, not the cutsey country of the 1990's but the simplistic country style that mixes so well with modern elements.
I'm positive we owe a huge thanks to the one and only Sarah Richardson for her influence in designing her country home! The week the sinks made from dressers aired we sold three pieces to be repurposed for ..yup..sinks!!
Seeing Country Style "come back in" is exciting for us diehards who were never waivered by the modern trends that took over the past several years. It means business for antique shops, flea markets and auctions will pick up and there will be sales reaching where they were in the early part of the last decade once again!
Whether you are redecorating an old house or starting fresh in a brand new space, you can create such a warm and cozy atmosphere with worn country furnishings and accessories that will make your home ooze love!!
Here's to a prosperous new year!!
Have a peek at our fb group to see the beds we've sold this month

Thanks for the info on what is selling. Gives hope to a antiques dealer in Pennsylvania. We having been selling painted furniture, i.e. bookcases, tables for the last couple of months. Have a good weekend.
